Why Canada is different
Email marketing software that starts from Canadian rules
Most email platforms are built for the US, where you can email someone until they opt out. Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL) works the other way: you need consent before you send, every message has to identify you, and if you’re ever asked, it’s up to you to prove you had consent.
OneHive Mail was designed with that in mind. Consent is recorded when contacts arrive, the identification footer is added for you, and unsubscribes are handled the moment they happen. And because it’s priced in Canadian dollars, your monthly bill doesn’t move with the exchange rate.

Where your data lives
Hosted in Canada, and clear about the rest
The OneHive Mail app and database, where your contacts, CRM records and consent records are kept, are currently hosted in Canada. Your emails are delivered through Amazon Web Services in the United States (US West, Oregon), which also reports deliveries, bounces and complaints back to us.
Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws there. Our privacy policy explains what we collect, who helps us run the service and how to make a privacy request.

Is OneHive Mail CASL compliant?
CASL applies to you as the sender, so no software can make you compliant on its own. OneHive Mail gives you the tools the law expects: consent records using CASL’s categories, your identification and an unsubscribe link in every email, unsubscribes that take effect straight away and automatic suppression.
Does it track when implied consent expires?
Not yet. OneHive Mail records the type of consent and the date, but it doesn’t stop emailing a contact when implied consent runs out after two years or six months. Use a segment on the date contacts were added to find them, and ask for express consent in time.
Are prices in Canadian dollars?
Yes. Customers in Canada see fixed prices in Canadian dollars, set separately rather than converted from US dollars, so your bill doesn’t move with the exchange rate. Plans start at $35 CAD/month for up to 1,000 active contacts.
Where is my data stored?
The OneHive Mail app and database are currently hosted in Canada. Emails are delivered through Amazon Web Services in the United States (US West, Oregon). Our privacy policy has the details.
Can I email clients in the United States too?
Yes. Every email carries the mailing address and unsubscribe link that both CASL and the US CAN-SPAM Act ask for, and US customers can pay in US dollars.
Can I bring my contacts and their consent from another platform?
Yes. Export a CSV, import it under Contacts → Import and record how those contacts agreed to hear from you. Leave out people who unsubscribed or bounced; existing contacts are updated rather than duplicated.
